Suleiman Range - Takht-e-Suleiman

The Sulaiman Mountains are the southern extension of the Hindu Kush mountain ranges, positioned in the Zabul, Kandahar and Loya Paktia regions of Afghanistan, and in the southern Federally Administered Tribal areas (South Waziristan and Frontier place Dera Ismail Khan), most of northern Balochistan, and a number of southwestern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. The Sulaimans shape the Jap fringe of the Iranian Plateau in which the Indus River separates it from the Subcontinent. Bordering the Sulaiman Ranges to the north are the arid highlands of critical Hindu Kush or Paropamisadae, whose heights increase up to 6,000 metres (20,000 feet).

In Frontier vicinity Dera Ismail Khan, the very amazing height of the Sulaimans is Takht-e-Sulaiman or "Throne of Solomon" at three,487 metres (11,440 feet). In Balochistan, its highest top is Zarghun Ghar at three,578 metres (eleven,739 feet) near Quetta city; at the same time as the second one-most is Khilafat Hill at 3,475 metres (11,401 toes) in Ziarat district and is famous for large juniperus macropoda forests in its environment.



Stories Related To Sulaiman Mountains

Within the Pashtun and Gandhara legend, one of the maximum peaks of the Takht-i Sulaiman ("Throne of Solomon"), three,382 metres (eleven,096 toes) immoderate, is related to Prophet Solomon. Ibn Battuta names it Koh-i Suleiman. One legend says that Qais Abdur Rashid, stated to be the mythical ancestor of the Pashtun usa, is buried on pinnacle of Takht-e-Suleiman, locally called Da Kasī Ghar (د کسي غر, "Mount of Qais"), located near the village of Darazinda in Frontier location Dera Ismail Khan of the Federally Administered Tribal regions, near the border with each South Waziristan and Zhob, Balochistan. The legend has it that from there, his splendid descendants migrated west, north, and south. Some human beings go to the vicinity and make animal sacrifices, usually a sheep or a goat, on the tomb of Qais to help feed the terrible. A journey to the mountain is undertaken usually in summer time, for the reason that from past due November till March the snowfall makes it hard to climb.

A few unique legend states that the witch Tusheeta presently lives on the mountains of Suleiman.

Al-Biruni, who himself lived a huge part of his existence in Ghazni located simply northwest of the Sulaimans, writes of the mountains in his memoirs as being the western frontier mountains of Asia and the place of origin of an Ajami ("non-Arab") or Persian tribe known as the Pashtuns.

Own Experience:
Well personally I borned in a valley surrounded by huge mountains.Regardless of my home town When I fist saw Koh-e-Suleiman I was just shocked,to see such a huge structure on land suddenly well the trip experience doesn't ends up here.there are road that first ascends the mountain,Which is truly amazing,Horrible and a moment in life that you'll never forget.after ascending the mountain there are passes inside the mountain and you descend inside the mountain crossing the roads that simply awesome there are not as many hotel but yes you can stay in hotel.The people here are very kind and tinder hearted and hospitable.They tell us about a legend that a witch named theesta lives in these mountains which was quite scary for us.I strongly recommend you guys to visit Koh-e-Suleiman.If you visit pakistan and missed to visit this area you'll regret.So therefore don't make yourself regret and visit the area.
